State Fishing Area off of Route 7 in Pittsown by the Causeway 

The Tomhannock Reservoir in Pittstown Rensselaer County NY serves Troy and its neighbors with very clean water. It is over 5 miles long and has very high quality water. Most of it is in Pittstown, but its northern tip and spillway is in the town of Schagticoke. The reservoir is best known for its abundant walleye population. and bass and panfish. In order to fish there, you not only need a state fishing license, but a City of Troy permit.
